Installation Art

Installation art is defined as the art that takes over a space.  It defines a space.

There is not a particular type of material used in installation art.  Things such as architecture, sculpture or landscape can be used.

Installation art is created to show that normal feature or pieces can create artwork.

I found the piece by Yayoi Kusama Dots most interesting.  I thought the artwork was fun and vibrant.

There is not any artwork that I feel I can connect with but I did enjoy Yayoi Kusama's artwork within the movie as well as the textbook.

I will be using Stories and Histories as my theme for my artwork.

I will be using a Buddha I received as a gift while at the restaurant.  This particular piece is art my house.  It is a souvenir.

My installation is a Buddha, it is used as a cup as well.  This is about a 1' sculpture.  There are many principles and elements within this small piece of art.  Form is the major element I see, but this sculpture also portrays line, form, shape, texture, harmony and proportion.

This project was difficult at first, I had a hard time thinking of a piece of artwork within my home that would describe installation.  Once I realized that the Buddha cup would reflect all the aspects of installation the project became a lot easier and was enjoyable doing.  The only issue I was confronted with was making sure that I captured the image of the Buddha correctly to portray the installation feature.
